ARCH Dog Desexing
Program

Our Dog Desexing Program aims to prevent unwanted litters of puppies which often end up in pounds and rescues.

ARCH has received a grant from the team at SavourLife for a Dog Desexing Program in the Coffs Harbour Area. Places are limited, applications will be accepted until the available funds have been allocated. This is likely to happen quickly (expected by the end of April or even earlier).

To be eligible for the ARCH Dog Desexing Program you must:
-
be a resident within the Coffs Harbour LGA (proof of address required);
-
be a pension, concession card or health care card holder (proof required);
-
be able to book your dog in for desexing within one month of approval from ARCH and be able to transport the dog to and from ARCH’s appointed vet on the day of the procedure and for the recheck appointment; and
-
be able to provide appropriate post operative care for the dog.

To focus on the dogs most in need, your dog must be:
-
Female;
-
Aged between 6 months and 5 years of age; and

An Elizabethan collar (to be returned to the Vets at the post operative check)
-

Not covered
The desexing program does not cover other surgical options such as pre-anaesthetic blood work or vaccinations. If you choose any of these services, you must pay for them yourself.
ARCH will pay for the microchipping of your dog and it will be recorded into your name on the NSW Pet Registry. It is then your responsibility to Lifetime register your dog.

The application process
Submitting an application form does not guarantee you a place on the program. Applications will be assessed on an individual basis by ARCH and are subject to the available funding. ARCH reserves the right to deny an application for any reason.
Once you have applied, you will receive an email (usually within 7 days) advising of the outcome of your application. The email will detail your obligations under the programme which must be followed to remain eligible.
Thank you for being a responsible pet owner.
